The blade’s spine rises and falls abruptly, creating the illusion of a clip point bowie knife, predating the bowie by many centuries. The Chieftan’s Sax (Seax) is designed as a weapon first, with a modestly sized brass guard to prevent fingers from sliding onto the blade and offer some protection against opposing weapons. The handle is a masterpiece, intricately hand-carved in a deep relief link pattern, visually stunning and complementing the matching brass guard and pommel.
