Microtech – 166-10APOD – Hawk Karambit – Automatic Knife – M390MK Apocalyptic Hawkbill – Aluminum – OD Green

The Microtech 166-10APOD Hawk Karambit is a distinctive folding karambit that combines a dramatically curved hawkbill-style blade with premium materials, rugged styling, and a compact folding design. Finished with an OD green aluminum handle and an apocalyptic blade finish, this model delivers a distinctive appearance that reflects Microtech’s recognizable approach to precision knife design. With its sweeping blade profile and carefully proportioned handle, the Hawk Karambit stands apart from conventional folding knives. Its curved silhouette draws inspiration from traditional karambit designs, while its modern construction and striking finish give it a contemporary character. The combination of a substantial blade, textured visual details, and an ergonomic handle profile makes this model an appealing addition to a collection of premium folding knives. At the heart of the Microtech Hawk Karambit 166-10APOD is a 3.94-inch blade crafted from M390MK steel. This premium blade steel is associated with excellent edge retention, corrosion resistance, and wear resistance, making it a popular choice in high-end knife construction. The blade’s pronounced hawkbill curve creates its unmistakable karambit-inspired profile, while the plain-edge configuration provides a clean, uninterrupted cutting edge. The apocalyptic blade finish gives the knife a weathered, industrial appearance that complements its bold design. Rather than a traditional polished look, this finish emphasizes a rugged aesthetic that pairs naturally with the OD green handle. The blade measures 0.197 inches thick, contributing to the knife’s substantial construction and distinctive proportions. The handle is constructed from OD green aluminum, offering a lightweight yet sturdy foundation for the knife’s folding configuration. Its 0.52-inch thickness provides a substantial profile, while the 5.04-inch closed length makes the knife compact enough for convenient storage when folded. The OD green finish adds a military-inspired visual element without overwhelming the knife’s clean, purposeful lines. The contrast between the handle’s subdued green color and the apocalyptic blade finish creates a cohesive, rugged appearance that will appeal to collectors who appreciate distinctive materials and finishes. A tip-up pocket clip completes the exterior design, providing a practical carrying feature for users who prefer this clip orientation. The knife’s folding construction allows the blade to be enclosed within the handle when not in use, maintaining a compact overall footprint. Measuring 8.75 inches overall when open, the Microtech Hawk Karambit offers a substantial presence while retaining a folding design that measures just over five inches when closed. Its 3.94-inch blade and 4.97-ounce weight give it a solid, substantial feel, while the aluminum handle helps maintain a balance between durability and portability. The combination of a curved blade, OD green aluminum construction, and apocalyptic finish gives the 166-10APOD a distinctive identity within the Microtech lineup. Its proportions and finish make it a compelling option for enthusiasts who appreciate modern karambit-inspired designs and premium folding knife craftsmanship. Whether displayed as part of a collection or appreciated for its distinctive design, the Microtech Hawk Karambit 166-10APOD showcases a combination of premium steel, contemporary materials, and unmistakable styling.
