CRKT – 2399 – S.P.I.T. – Fixed Blade Knife – 8Cr13MoV Two Tone Reverse Tanto – G10 – Orange

The CRKT 2399 S.P.I.T. (Small Pocket Inverted Tanto) is a compact fixed-blade knife designed by Alan Folts for everyday utility, precision cutting, and convenient carry. Combining a distinctive reverse tanto blade profile with a highly visible orange G10 handle, this lightweight knife offers a practical balance of portability, control, and dependable cutting performance. Its compact dimensions and included thermoplastic sheath make it a versatile option for outdoor enthusiasts, collectors, and anyone looking for a small fixed blade with a distinctive design. Designed in collaboration with Columbia River Knife & Tool (CRKT), the S.P.I.T. reflects Alan Folts’ approach to creating functional knives that maximize utility within a compact footprint. Measuring 5.48 inches overall, it provides a substantial cutting tool in a size that is easy to carry without the bulk associated with larger fixed-blade knives. Its lightweight construction also makes it suitable for users who prioritize minimizing their everyday carry load. The 2.15-inch reverse tanto blade is crafted from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, a practical blade steel valued for its combination of corrosion resistance, edge performance, and ease of sharpening. The inverted tanto configuration creates a distinctive cutting profile with a fine point suited to controlled cutting, detailed work, and scoring applications. A two-tone finish combining stonewashed and satin surfaces adds visual contrast while complementing the knife’s modern styling. The handle is constructed from orange G10, a durable composite material known for its strength, stability, and dependable grip. Its bright color improves visibility when the knife is placed among outdoor equipment, tools, or other gear. Carefully shaped finger grooves help position the hand, while jimping provides additional traction where the fingers contact the handle. Together, these ergonomic details promote a secure, controlled hold during appropriate cutting tasks. With a blade thickness of approximately 0.15 inches, the CRKT S.P.I.T. offers a compact yet substantial design for a variety of everyday utility applications. Its 3.33-inch handle provides room for a comfortable grip relative to the knife’s overall size, helping make the small fixed blade practical rather than merely ornamental. The combination of a precise blade profile and textured handle makes it well suited to light cutting chores that benefit from a compact, easily controlled tool. For convenient storage and transport, the CRKT 2399 includes a durable thermoplastic sheath with mounting options and a lanyard. The sheath helps protect the blade when it is not in use and provides a practical way to carry the knife with compatible gear. The knife weighs approximately 1.9 ounces on its own and 2.5 ounces with the sheath, keeping the complete package lightweight and easy to incorporate into an appropriate carry setup. Whether added to a knife collection or selected as a compact utility tool, the CRKT S.P.I.T. stands out through its reverse tanto geometry, bright orange handle, and thoughtful ergonomic details. Designed by Alan Folts and manufactured in China, this model combines distinctive styling with practical materials in a small fixed-blade format.
