The Benchmade 174SN SOCP® Single-Edge Dagger brings the purpose-driven design of the SOCP® platform into a more versatile fixed-blade format. Developed around feedback from civilians and professional operators, this model combines the compact, streamlined profile of the SOCP® family with a redesigned single-edge blade intended to provide greater utility for everyday cutting tasks. The result is a lightweight fixed blade that retains the characteristic penetrating point of the SOCP® design while offering improved cutting geometry. The 174SN features a 2.75-inch spear-point blade manufactured from 440C stainless steel and hardened to 58-60HRC. Unlike traditional double-edge dagger configurations, this version uses a single sharpened edge, making it better suited to applications where a cutting edge can provide additional utility. Benchmade’s updated 174-series design incorporates a high saber-style grind to improve the blade’s cutting geometry while maintaining the pointed profile associated with the SOCP® platform. A Desert Sand finish gives the blade a distinctive appearance while providing a durable Cerakote® coating. The compact 0.175-inch blade thickness contributes to the dagger’s lightweight construction, while the 0.175-inch handle thickness keeps the overall profile exceptionally slim. At only 2.01 ounces, the 174SN is designed to remain unobtrusive when carried, making it particularly well suited to users who prioritize minimal weight and compact dimensions. The integrated SOCP® handle is constructed from 440C stainless steel and provides the familiar handling characteristics of the SOCP® design. Its fixed-blade construction eliminates moving parts and provides a straightforward, durable platform. The included injection-molded sheath weighs approximately 1.04 ounces and is designed around flexible carry options. The sheath is MOLLE-compatible and incorporates a J-hook-style clip for pocket or waistband carry, giving users multiple ways to configure the dagger according to their preferred setup.
